Different Strokes
Our specialty

Multi-month,
comprehensive
painting projects.

Whole-house repaints. New construction. Phased commercial work. Anything that needs one crew, on one accountability line, for three months or longer. This is what we do better than anyone in Park City.

A Park City home mid-build, where a multi-month painting project lives

We are there from framing through final coat. Months on one site, one crew, one standard.

Approach 1

One crew, one trim color, every room.

On a multi-month repaint, the worst thing you can do is hand the job to a rotating cast of subcontractors. One week the trim is bone, the next week it's egg-white, and by month three the powder room looks like a different house. We work it the other way. One crew, one trim spec, the same color memory in the same heads for the whole project. Color continuity is the deliverable.

Whole-house repaints from 1,800 sf condos to 9,000 sf mountain residences.

Approach 2

Built with the builder.

When a custom home is being built, we slot in early. We're there for drywall prime, then we're back for cabinets, then trim, then exterior weather window, then final punch. The GC doesn't have to manage us like a separate trade. We manage ourselves, communicate when conditions slip, and stay out of the other trades' way until they're done.

Active partnerships with Park City and Heber-area custom-home builders.

Approach 3

40-year project calendars.

A 4-month whole-home repaint is not 4 months of nonstop painting. It's a sequence: prep → primers → ceilings → walls → cabinets → trim → exterior weather window → final touch-ups. We map the sequence with you up front, so you know when a room is unusable, when it's safe again, and when the next phase needs your decisions. No mystery. No surprise.

Project calendars sent before the first can opens.

A real 40-year project calendar

What four months actually looks like.

We send a written sequence like this before we open the first can. Yours will be specific to your home, your timeline, and the season. This is the shape of a typical interior + exterior whole-home repaint.

  1. Week 1-2
    Walk-through, color, prep plan
Test patches in your actual light, written spec sheet, scope sign-off.
  2. Week 2-4
    Prep, repairs, priming
Sand, patch, caulk, prime. The boring half of the work that makes the rest look easy.
  3. Month 2-3
    Interior wall + ceiling coats
Room by room. We move out of one before we open the next.
  4. Month 3-4
    Cabinets, trim, doors, woodwork
The detail work. Sprayed where it should be sprayed, brushed where it should be brushed.
  5. Weather window
    Exterior
Park City weather is the boss. We schedule the exterior phase around it, not against it.
  6. Final week
    Punch list + walk-out
You walk the house with us. Anything that's not right gets fixed before we leave.
FAQ

Multi-month project questions.

Anything that runs longer than a few weeks and needs one crew holding the whole thing together. Whole-house repaints, new construction from drywall through punch, phased commercial work, big restorations. If the timeline is measured in months instead of days, this is the page for you.

Got a long one in front of you?

Greg and Les are wonderful. They helped refinish our library at our home in Park City and we're thrilled with the results!

I had Different Strokes paint three rooms in my house. They also repaired a few areas on the walls that needed fixed. Their estimate was detailed and very reasonable. I'm very pleased with the work they did.
